![]() Things like the secret school bus or police car lol. Just the easy fun controls and cars, I guess. Was my go-to in arcades, and also up there as one of my most played N64 games with friends. Pretty awesome feedback and overall arcade experience.Ĭruisin' USA was my favorite as a kid and sometimes I don't know why lol. ![]() Was never a fan of the Daytona controls, subjectively speaking, but objectively in the arcade Daytona USA was the better arcade game I think. That feature must have the strength of an elephant because no matter how hard you tried to stop it correcting, it would always overpower your control until the car was back on the right path! Only thing that was so weird at the time was the game's force feedback steering wheel which automatically corrected your steering if you crashed. You were allowed to play one match against people and then had to let others in line play. At the time, I never saw any Daytonas in arcades yet.Īnd it was awesome. Pretty sure it wasn't even released to arcades yet, but they had an expo where there were arcade machines, PS and Saturn demos before launch. Such a good game.įirst time I played Daytona arcade was at a game show at the CNE in Toronto. RR on PS1 sure seemed close to the arcade.Īmazingly, you still see some Daytona machines at tiny arcades in theaters and such. They had Daytona on a demo kiosk and it sounded like Daytona, but looked like ass. Never played Cruisin in any form (arcade or N64), but between Ridge Racer and Daytona, Daytona all the way (for arcade gaming), but RR for PS1 over that Saturn crap I played one time at a store.
